I worked in Port Access Elevated Highway Project (PAEHP) as a Construction Engineer in the project Consultancy firm from 1st January 2021 to 30th September 2024.Project: ADB Funded Port Access Elevated Highway, Sri Lanka (Project value: A$ 540m)Project Scope: Bored Piles, Substructure works of the Viaduct, Post-Tensioning, Launching Segments, Match-Casted Precast Segments, Construction of Segmental Bridge, Quality ControlKey Responsibilities and Achievements:* Inspected and authorized critical construction activities, including pile driving, post-tensioning, and bridge erection, ensuring compliance with specifications.* Performed essential site calculations to verify the post-tensioning works of capping beams and viaducts according to the design drawings.* Oversaw bored piling, rebar, and concreting works; conducted pile rectification using core cutting, cleaning, and pressure grouting.* Assessed soil and rock conditions and verified foundation designs using borehole data and the site samples.* Conducted pile integrity tests (Cross-hole sonic logging, PIT/IPIT, Tomography) and verified post-tensioning calculations.* Reviewed and approved Activity Method Statements, construction procedures, and quality documents, ensuring alignment with Quality Management Plans.* Evaluated supplier and contractor quality systems, ensuring adherence to project standards.* Reviewed design and As-Built drawings, addressing non-conformances and proposing corrective actions.* Coordinated with consultants on design adjustments, facilitated technical discussions, and supported quality and safety standards on-site.* Collaborated with contractor quality teams on material approvals, QA documentation, and final handovers.* Promoted teamwork, technical support, and effective communication within the project team.

I worked in Central Expresway Project (CEP Section 2) as a Site Engineer from 15th November 2016 to 31st December 2020.Key Responsibilities:* Determined construction methods and supervised site activities, including piling, pile caps, pier construction, capping beams, I-girder casting and erection, post-tensioning, deck slabs, parapet walls, asphalt laying, and box culvert construction, ensuring that they are built correctly.* Coordinated the supply of materials, like reinforcement cages and concrete, ensuring timely availability to avoid delays.* Oversaw pile drilling operations, ensuring correct pile location, alignment, and depth as specified in the design.* Produced detailed rebar schedules analyzing design drawings and shop drawings.* Maintained drawing register and communicated revisions and changes to site supervisors.* Coordinated with geotechnical and structural engineers to confirm pile design specifications, including diameter, length, reinforcement details, and socketing depths* Coordinated the concrete pouring process, ensuring continuous and controlled filling of the borehole to prevent defects in the pile.* Maintained detailed records of pile logs, drilling parameters, concrete volumes, and reinforcement details.* Tracked and monitored design changes, quantified and evaluated their implications on cost, and negotiated design variations.* Implemented quality assurance protocols, including pile integrity testing, to verify that piles met design specifications by conducting Sonic Lodging tests for each pile, ensuring project feasibility.* Prepared and maintained as-built schedules for completed works, documenting project progress. * Organized and coordinated site teams to maximize productivity, quality, and safety using available machinery and resources within the project timeline.* Coordinated the design scope among design sub-consultants, project consultants, and government authorities.
