The Blaber Lab looks into the physiological, cellular, and molecular processes that underlie stem cell failure brought on by aging, disease, and environmental stresses. Understanding the significance of mechanical load in preserving stem cell regeneration health with a focus on the musculoskeletal and digestive systems is one of our current research projects. To better understand how mechanical stimuli maintain stem cell health and tissue regeneration, our research employs a variety of loading paradigms (spaceflight, simulated spaceflight, hypergravity, and exercise).
