Sask Rugby has changed my life, in 2015 we decided after attending a Rugby Canada AGM, to focus on youth community based programs, with structured systems, levels and leagues. Aligning our Provinces U-programs with Rugby Canada's pathway through the CRC model and launching Academy Rugby in 2016, endorsing Rugby306 and MacDowell Rugby. Through our Board we have been able to foster volunteer participation through our Sask Rugby Summit; a weekend of education sessions focused on Youth Development, Coaching, Refereeing, Women in Rugby, Leadership, Fitness, Rookie/ Mini Rugby, etc. followed by an Annual Awards Banquet, and our Semi-Annual AGM. By empowering these volunteers and giving them the tools needed to succeed. Our staff has been able to grow Mini Rugby and implement Rookie Rugby Programs, by partnering with SPEA (Saskatchewan Physical Educators Association) at various School Divisions and hosting jamborees, culminating with a flag demo during the July 8th Saskatchewan RoughRider's halftime show. We are looking forward to the growing pains of building Sport the Saskatchewan Athlete can dream of the International Stage and the Olympics. Our Senior Men's program was initiated by nomination nights held by each Sub-Union where 5 players were nominated by each Club, the remainder of the roster was filled out by the selected coaches, encouraging buy in and participation from all those involved.In 2017, at the Annual Rugby Canada Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Canada Seven's in Vancouver, Canada.
