Dan Abrahamsson, Swedish born & raised, now also a US citizen, loved to draw and paint since his early childhood. This led him to pursue a liberal arts and fine arts education already as a young Swedish secondary school student. He deems his works to be in the genre of modern impressionism and abstract expressionism. His focus is on capturing visual impressions, depicting feelings, and visually presenting his observations of experienced moments in his works. His abstract creations have distinctive visible spheres and forms in colorful brushstrokes with shifting effects of light and contrast are noticeable in his more abstract creations. He prefers working with acrylics and he enjoys using different techniques such as palette knives, sponges, besides to regular brushes. His goal is to let the inner energy of the moment take charge of a creation and leave space for the viewer to interpret or position themselves into his artwork. According to his opinion "good art" is created in a natural and often sudden way, without a lot of thought or planning, but with the intention of being striking.
