Veteran cyber professional who enjoys working with organizations to assess their risk and build their strategic roadmap adhering to best practices. I firmly believe that cyber security follows two main principles: Visibility and Preparation. Does the organization have visibility into all the activity in their environment (users, devices-physical and virtual)? This is where the controls will fall, along with governance (frameworks, standards). Is the organization prepared for what may happen? Preparation includes the policies, procedures, training, testing, runbooks, playbooks, etc.Proper visibility and preparation will enable an organization to detect and respond to cyber events and minimize the risk to their business. There is no perfect solution, and one size does not fit all. Cybersecurity does not require a billion-dollar budget, it does require executing on the basics (the blocking and tackling) and mapping your cyber maturity to the business. I enjoy these conversations and collaborating with people so we all get better.
