I have continued to lead modernization efforts for underlying systems and platforms. This includes advancing our use of Kubernetes and modern Spring Boot, and advancing the state of our CI/CD deployment pipelines. I led the effort to re-architect a 20 year old storage solution for millions of industrial and electronic components to use a modern PostgreSQL database for storage and a web service to control access. Additionally, I have led the design process for the architecture of the next version of the product search platform. These changes should allow us to ingest data in real time for search and improve overall performance.

I have led development efforts that centered around integrating our new backend search platform with the GlobalSpec and Datasheets360 websites and various data build and update processes.During the course of my development efforts, I have introduced several new technologies to our development team. These include the Kotlin programming language, Spring Boot and helping to migrate our version control systems from Subversion to Git.

I worked extensively on the architecture, technical design and initial implementation of the IHS Datasheets 360 website, as well as subsequent upgrades and maintenance releases. In addition, I also worked on the creation and subsequent improvements of IHS Engineering 360 and improvements to one of IHS' e-commerce properties.My role also involved advancing the agile development process. I took a leading role in the formation of the agile team structure and organization and served as a scrum master for approximately 8 months.As a principal engineer, I have also spent time investigating new technologies and development methodologies that prove useful to the organization. This includes introducing Maven as a replacement for Ant & Ivy to handle project builds and dependency management and the introduction of JBoss Wildfly and RestEasy to build RESTful web services.

I helped to maintain and improve the GlobalSpec website and its supporting tools and process. In addition to development, I help to mentor and support other developers.I have also helped the GlobalSpec development team adopt Agile development methodologies, continuous integration processes and automated testing.
