Degreed (MS & BS) Welding Engineer with over thirty (30) years of diversified research and production experience, CO2 LASER welding expert with extensive background in welding metallurgy and processes with emphasis on tubular wire consumable product development in nickel base alloys, stainless steels, and mild carbon steels. Experienced shop and field welding supervision, PQR/WDS development, research laboratory, and consumable manufacturing facilities for solid and tubular wires, covered electrodes and fluxes. Commercial Nuclear-SG replacement experience as Welding Unit mgr. Four plus years in heavy pressure vessel fabrication to NAVSEA 250-1500-1 working with AMI Narrow Groove, and Narrow Gap welding heads for remote AGTAW-CW/HW ultra-high (>105ksi) strength pressure vessel welds utilizing AMI M52/M15 w/M415 systems. Worked with ultra-large robotic work cell GMAW-P & GMAW-ST cladding of large Naval components. Implemented first of kind fully automated LASER welding system for Ultra-High automotive seat frame production with beam quality and power diagnostic equipment. Laser Welding Expert at AK Steel responsible for fully automatic LASER weld quality and production on full range of steels and stainless steels, Laser tailor welded blank expert, charged with finding the latest technologies and approaches to solve manufacturing, customer and product development problems for tailor welded blank production, friction stir stainless steel welding, automotive resistance spot welding, special molten zinc corrosion resistant vessels, and production of resistance seam welds. Worked with EXXON metallurgists on X-80 pipeline welds, repair and field production procedures with successful hydro-test. Worked on PQR/WDS development for semi-automatic GTAW-CW welding of duplex stainless steel pipeline with AMI M15 system. Developed special explosive clad pipeline for CRA applications.
