About Dan Archer

Dan Archer is a Lead Systems Engineer at Williams-Sonoma, Inc.. He possess expertise in cloud computing, saas, linux, enterprise software, problem management and 39 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I’m very pleased to recommend Dan Archer. Previously as a Client Manager at HP, I relied on Dan for four years. Not only was he a key member of our cross-functional team, but he helped us ensure a successful launch of our DSMail offering to pilot customers. Dan’s skills and dedication make him an invaluable addition to any team. The trust Dan and I were able to build with one another was most notable when Autonomy prior to being acquired by HP decided to roll out a new product offering called DSMail. The product was rolled out to pilot customers with no documentation and no internal training. Naturally the product also had flaws that resulted in us having to patch those and upgrade to a new minor version at least twice per month. Not only that, this product initially had no support team to manage it. Thankfully, Dan was able to step up above and beyond his audit center product support duties to assist with upgrades and support cases regularly. Both the client team and operational support were learning on the fly so lucky for me Dan was able to figure out how retrieval portals worked even as we had two different search mechanisms with their own content archives being accessed at all times. In what could have been a complete flop, the product was able to flourish with dedicated developers, support engineers, and documentation due to the efforts of a select few people including Dan during its critical period. In addition to his professional qualifications, Dan has personal qualities that make him well-suited to technical leadership. He naturally fell into the role of a team lead when we re-organized our operations group into pods based on product and skillset. He’s not afraid to do outside of the box thinking to help evaluate a problem, though is as risk-averse as needed to ensure there is no data loss or degradation of service. The other component is that he genuinely cares. He cares about the customer and cares about the other team members that are working just as hard to get the problem solved, especially when they are going above and beyond to do so. On a personal note, having such large customers requiring 48 hour maintenance windows over weekends multiple times per year, the value of having quality individuals in the trenches with you cannot be understated. There were several of these at least multiple times per year events for my customers that Dan worked with me on over a four-year period. I always appreciated his honesty with the current state of a situation, both in terms of resolution required and what other teams we needed to engage to help solve problems. It’s this vision coupled with Dan being an overall good human being that made those maintenance windows less stressful, more collaborative, and the team as a whole end the project with more gratification when successful. " and "I have known and worked with Dan for over a year during which time we were supporting Digital Safe applications at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Dan possesses a great balance of technical and people skills. He handled issues and problems in a calm and professional matter. It was always a pleasure working with Dan on any issues arisen during a fast pace, hectic Operations environment. When my team or a colleague raises any issues, Dan always comes through with a solution because he has extensive experience in troubleshooting applications, Linux, Windows, network, systems and he collaborates well with other teams if the problem spans multiple areas. I highly recommend Dan and consider him a fantastic employee and valuable team member. "

Listed skills include Cloud Computing, Saas, Linux, Enterprise Software, and 40 others.
