Interdisciplinary Scientist with the USGS National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP). Product Owner for the Registry of Scientific Collections (ReSciColl) and the National Index of Borehole Information (NIBI), responsible for ensuring those metadata catalogs have the features and requirements necessary to support their stakeholders, including working with developers, contributors on project management, training, communication, and support.

• Plan, develop, and evaluate methods/protocols and procedures for the storage, retrieval, backup, and archiving of geographically-referenced and time-series data (e.g., water chemistry, land management, meteorological data) from a variety of sources, scales and lengths of record.• Collate data from a number of investigators and sampling platforms including working with relational databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Global Positioning System (GPS); observatory/sensor data; and other computer systems information management.• Construct platforms for new databases and user input/output interfaces.• Develop and incorporates data screening and quality control criteria into databases and document data quality processes using statistical procedures.• Evaluate unit databases and ensure protocols are compatible with various systems. Also ensure data integrity and availability during migrations as database systems improve and change.• Use current scripting and data management tools such as R and SQL, and GIS tools such as GRASS and ARC/INFO in data processing, data modeling, and presentation.• Extract database information to provide value-added services to meet a wide variety of unit and organization objectives.• Keep abreast of changing technology involved in the various systems to determine compatibility requirements.• Oversee and manage IT systems, telecommunications, and security responsibilities for the unit serving as systems administrator, management, and support.• Provide advisory services for IT policy, troubleshoot IT and telecommunications issues, manages software licensing and databases, and provide IT systems training for unit personnel.

• Investigated ice nucleation processes and parameterization of ice microphysics processes for forecasting precipitation and calculating precipitation efficiency in future climates, using both observations and numerical modeling experiments with the Advanced Research Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF-ARW) model.• Participated in creation of daily weather forecasts and briefings, and provided current in-flight weather information for research aircraft during the Ice in Clouds Experiment - Tropical (ICE-T), in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, July 2011.• Investigated warm rain precipitation initiation and evolution in trade wind cumuli using research aircraft and dual-polarization radar data.• Worked with Purdue University Rendering and Perceptualization Laboratory (PURPL) to develop a new three-dimensional visualization application for combining radar and aircraft-mounted probe data.

• Taught undergraduate laboratories in synoptic meteorology (I, II, and III) and atmospheric observations and measurements (class sizes averaged 18 students), including instruction in MATLAB and GEMPAK.
