The final product was a fully modeled electrode assembly with drawings and 21 programs post processed ready for machining. Drawings include materials list, and set-up sheets.o Created standard procedures in cooperation with EDM department.o The work cell consisted of 2 high speed machining centers, a CMM measuring machine, CAD/CAM programming system within a temperature-controlled environment.o The average result was a small set of 5-6 electrodes from concept to completion in less than 1 hour. Solved difficult problems for both customers and other departments.o At customer site, quickly resolved molding problem.o Detected costly issues with molds built overseas.o Resolved difficult to detect design flaws which were preventing molded part approval.o Within a 2-year period, lead the shop from 800k loss/yr. to profitability through correcting monthly statements and enacting cost-cutting procedures.
