My passion is writing code and leveraging machine learning to develop bioinformatics pipelines and automate time-consuming processes. I've used established bioinformatics tools and developed new pipelines aimed at identifying variants that may cause human disease, specializing in structural variants and low-frequency somatic variants. Most notably, I developed CHONK, a program that uses machine learning to genotype SVs and classify somatic SVs using unpaired, bulk WGS. My goal is to apply these skills to look for ways solve meaningful problems in genomics. https://github.com/daverbuj
