I am well qualified in two engineering roles and in many ways these areas converge. No matter what the specific role is, I am persistent and thorough. When difficult situations arise, I stay calm and assume any responsibilities and perform any role that is needed to resolve the issues.As an Elasticsearch Engineer, I bring a security mindset to each project and serve as the advocate for encrypted communications, role-based access controls, and security system integration. As a Cyber Security Engineer, I utilize my exceptionally strong problem-solving skills, along with my ability to provide both an enterprise and detailed perspective to understand all the moving parts. I served as the primary architect for an on-premise installation of an Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) to support Elasticsearch. My work included installing, configuring, deploying, and testing an Elasticsearch cluster. I also gained experience with queries, analyzer, mappings, and aggregations. I particular enjoy working with Elasticsearch because of its sophisticated search and analytics capabilities. Its implementation has enabled my company to perform extremely fast searches that support our data discovery efforts. I am currently working on a cloud implementation of the ECE architecture to AWS and Azure.I have a depth of experience in data and systems security, safeguarding company assets, privacy, sensitive data, and critical business systems. In my career, I have provided solutions across an evolving security landscape that address important issues in prevention, detection, and remediation. I work to ensure people-centric security awareness across the organization with the goal to mitigate any risks and enhance security behaviors. I enforce security policies, provide security training, and create security infrastructures that pass security audits and are in full compliance with regulations. I also provide insider threat detection, which is particularly challenging for government agencies as they are a primary target, so I work to provide the right combination of monitoring, education, and technology. For this reason, I prevent unauthorized access through the design, architecture, and deployment of all servers, storage equipment, and networking gear.
