Assigned to the Small Industrial Standby New Product Development team, responsible for designing, developing and documenting mechanical and electrical systems within liquid cooled industrial standby generators size 30-150kW, offering numerous configurations based upon fuel type, electrical customer connection options, and various types and sizes of enclosure. Participated in project design team meetings, reviewing status of current assignments. Researched, designed, developed and implemented 10 fuel systems, 4 block heater systems, and 9 enclosures for a large generator project. These systems were similar to current product, yet needed to be adapted for a new application, verified and tested within an aggressive project schedule. Worked with other departments to confirm systems met EPA and/or UL requirements. Utilized ProEngineer for the designing of parts and assemblies. Helped other team members with understanding simplified representations and also helped develop large assembly management techniques for the team while working through creation of installation drawings.

Assigned to the Portable Generators New Product Development team, responsible for all aspects of design, development, and documentation for mechanical systems within the air cooled portable generator product lines. Participated in portable team meetings and design reviews, reporting on status of current assignments. Researched, designed and developed a mounting system for 8kW generators to reduce overall vibration and new frame for 10kW generators to increase strength and unit life. Constantly involved in the manufacturing process and while also completing ECRs for production. Involved in the redesign of handle system for easier manufacturability and assembly.

Responsible for updating part documentation to 3D versions while designing a wide variety of different mechanical systems and parts for a high-shear feed extruder for individual customer requirements. Documented all past designs while updating designs to accommodate new products and designs. Worked with manufacturing vendor to cut costs of older products that were still in use. Designed and developed a mounting system adapter for customer’s specific needs. Created file storing system for all CAD documents along with other standards for creating drawings.
