Senior Logistics Analyst
Job duties went through several transformations during my tenure at UP. Initially began as the LTL specialist, maintaining the business relationships with our standard and expedited LTL carrier base to monitor and ensure on-time performance at reasonable cost through monthly analysis and quarterly reviews. The position then modified into an Operation Manager/Team Leader position, where I oversaw the Supply Dept transportation call center made up of both LTL and Truckload representatives. Our objective was to move UP freight by the most economical and cost-effective means possible to meet the needs our customers. In the final years of my UP career, the representatives were replaced andthe positions transitioned to UP employee Supply Chain Managers where we were assigned regionsof the country and Canada with the responsibility for the timely response to transportation needs. The requests would come from UP vendors, UP supply warehouse personnel and UP employees in the field. The requests could range from small package shipments to LTL to Truckload and Specialized equipment with the goal to ensure that the customer's needs were met while shipping by the lowest cost means available.
