Hello! My name is Dan. I’m a Web/Graphic Designer with over 9 years of industry experience.I started an interest in Web Design at around the age of 16, when Myspace was all the rage and everyone wanted the latest templates (LOL). I learnt some basic HTML and swapped some backgrounds, deleted the adverts etc. At the time I didn’t think it was something I wanted to do as a career, so fresh out of school, i went ahead and got on a 2 year course for carpentry.After the 2 years, I decided to make a massive change in direction and got a course in Interactive Media which involved Photography, Web Design, Claymation and other various subjects. I was really interested in the Web Design and got offered a job by a previous work colleague so I snapped up the offer!Having no in depth education, I had to learn quite quickly as i was thrown in at the deep end and asked to design and create a website for the company! I quickly grasped how things worked and soon finished the site. As I was still a newbie, the developers took over and created the contact forms.I’m self-taught and very confident in HTML(5) and CSS(3), I always try to conform to W3C regulations and my code is neat and well commented. I also have knowledge with Javascript/jQuery and PHP. I constantly strive to advance my knowledge in any way I can. I am learning new things all the time.I'm predominantly front end design / graphic design as it is what I am best at, however i am always willing to jump in where i'm needed and help out with whatever needs to be done.In my spare time, I enjoy going out with my camera and doing a photography work to build up my portfolio. I also volunteer at an Owl Rescue Sanctuary on the weekends. This involves cleaning aviaries, handling bird for customers, and feeding them.I am always excited to work as part of a team, or on my own, within a studio or organisation and develop my skills further. I’m polite, friendly and passionate about what I do!
