I was employed at the University Of Bradford Union Of Students in the role of Student Voice Manager. The Union is a charity with an annual turnover exceeding £1 million, providing support, and development to the 12,000 students attending the University of Bradford. In my role I am department manager for Student voice providing leadership for Unions Advice Centre, Organisation Communications, Student Insight,Democracy, Representation and Governance

Academic Advisor for Unions advice centre providing support and advocacy to students. My role evolved considerably which led to me taking on interim management for the department which involved:- Management of +£40,000 departmental budget and supervision of £150,000 staff budget- Management of Representation, Student Research, Democracy, Governance, and Academic Support- Management and implementation of the Unions new Student Voice area- Project lead for training/mentoring full-time executive team- Management and development the organisations Quality Assurance mechanisms including University communications- Project manager for the design and implementation of student engagement strategies (Student Leader Awards)- Project lead for the development of the Students’ Unions training portfolio for engaged student leaders- Project Manager for the delivery of student survey data capture, dissemination/analysis of data, and Union action planning- Lead staff support for the organisations student representation system - Member of organisations Trustee Board sub-committee for strategy- Project lead for design and implementation of new Advice and Support strategy

In 2018 I was appointed to become a Trustee of ‘Bradford Capital of Cycling’ a charity that was created in 2017 with the aim of making the city of Bradford a hub for cycling in the West Yorkshire region, and in the long-term a national centre. I was appointed to assist the organisation in the development of a long-term strategic plan to establish the charity, and assist the CEO in creating a sustainable model for the charity to grow

Employed to implement and coordinate a student representation system at the University of Bradford. I currently train and provide ongoing support for approximately 500 student volunteers, developing them to become effective student leaders during the academic year. Creating a structure and engagement strategy in which volunteers commit to their role in identifying negative practice within the institution and lobbying for change at the source.Seconded by the CEO of the Students’ Union to lead on the following:• Project management of the creation and implementation of the organisations 5 year strategic plan• Train/mentor full and part time officers• Line manage the new ‘Student Voice’ area• Manage and develop the organisations Quality Assurance mechanisms• Implement organisation new engagement strategy• Project manager of new student engagement strategy• Student surveys project leader

Employed to be the elected ambassador of the Union in relation to the organisations role in representing and supporting the 23,000 students who attend the University of Wolverhampton. A member of the Students' Unions Senior Management Team, responsible for ensuring that the organisations core aims and objectives were attained and constantly reviewed. I was responsible alongside other members of the executive for the Union’s strategic planning and development; This included individually line managing the Union’s Chief Executive Officer on behalf of the organisations Trustee Board.Additionally the role of President included sitting as a member of the Universities Corporate Management Team, and its sub-committees. Finally the role also included being the main student Representative on the Universities Board of Governors.

For three years employed to provide administrative support for the Operations Management Team and Directorship. For the final 12 months I was sub-contracted to a national energy company, providing an administrative function in support of an ongoing security project. During the final months of my employment, my contract was moved by TUPE to Compass Security.
