Created and implemented a digital strategy to bring together BI, automated marketing, call centre, web and CRM to competitively recruit high value prospects and measure the success of marketing campaigns and staff. This involved the heavy use and integration of Marketo, Sugar CRM, Squiz Matrix CMS, Datawarehousing and reporting (Yellow fin).Business process re-engineering using the LEAN methodology with hotel staff (MGSM owns a hotel) to create functional well documented and agreed streamlined policies and procedures for hotel staff. Then automating and integrating these procedures into Oracle Opera software (hotel management and booking software) to the extent possible, i.e. payments switch, EFTPOST, automated bookings, financial reconciliation and integration into finance systems.

The Uni is a billion dollar business with over 6000 staff. It comprises of many disparate income streams/ business loosely federated within the “University”. My role was to create a program of work and products across the enterprise, which support the strategic goals of the Uni and ensure they are successfully rolled out and supported. This involved a great deal of executive stakeholder and vendor management.Strategic Planning- Setup a working group to consult with high level stakeholders and executives to identify business priorities and create a rolling three year ICT strategic plan and program of work to meet business objectives.CRM- Designing and overseeing a program of work to implement Sugar CRM as an enterprise wide case and relationship management system. Implemented and integrated campaign management software (Marketo) with Sugar CRM. Internet/Intranet- Technical design and overseeing the implementation of new Intranet and Internet sites (Squiz Matrix) with implementation partner (Squiz). Included integration with CRM, Learning systems, etc to provide seamless portal experienceBI- Reporting- Implementing and overseeing a web based reporting tool (Yellowfin) across the enterprise to provide authoritative reports from a single source of truth (death to spreadsheets)BI- Modelling- Creating a web based platform (Palo) which caters for ‘what if’ scenario modelling, including financial forecasting, capacity planning and revenue modellingBI- Datawarehouse- Starting to solve the issue of a single source of truth by strategically creating data warehouses from various source systems (HR, finance and student systems)Integration- Enterprise Service Bus- Creating feeds/ webservices driven off the data warehouses to keep the many disparate systems up to date and in syncGovernance- Setup and co-chaired the Design Authority Group. AHCL is a community housing provider with remote offices and an expanding property portfolio. They were in need of a cohesive solution to bring together their financial, payroll, CRM, tenancy management, document and workflow systems. My role was to select appropriate packages and help manage the gradual implementation of the solution. I ran their tender for a new integrated tenancy management and financial system.

Proludic was a rapidly expanding company desperately in need of a cohesive solution to bring together their financial, payroll, CRM, stock control, document and workflow systems. My role was to select appropriate software and consult on the gradual implementation of the solution.

Kinesis is a small consultancy firm developing modelling and reporting solutions for carbon emissions and electricity generation. My role was to rescope their solution to allow them to expand from 4 to 100 clients over the following year. I worked with the business to create a formal business strategy and then to translate this into a plan of work for the development team. The starting point was a full in-depth review and documentation of their current systems. Implementing recommendations made in the review included project management, technical design and hands on coding.

My role was to select technology and packages appropriate to address present and future business requirements, prototype that technology and implement the future IT Strategy of the DoH. This has given me first-hand experience in communicating with all levels of the business and applying a wide range of technology. My role included:Developed a five year ITC strategic plan and program of workProviding consultancy across the enterprise. Business owners and executives would consult with us on possible business initiatives. I provided high level solution options, costing and cost benefit analysisWorking towards implementing a flexible useful enterprise architecture: I adopted a top down approach using the ICT strategic plan to create a high level enterprise architecture. At the same time creating a bottom up approach, by making new projects comply to a set of agreed standards and process, via an approach which is a light weight combination of TOGAF and Zachman. I initiated the process of adopting a common toolset and standardsWorking with Businesslink, DoCs, DADHC and Capgemini to create a common strategy for the implementation of enterprise architecture. Selected a middleware/ EAI solutionArchitected, designed, prototyped and managed an organisational way to kick-start SOA by exposing business functionality on legacy systems (e.g. Oracle 8i stored procedures). Rationalising business Intelligence solutions across the enterprise. A data warehouse was created to allow a single source of truth. A single enterprise wide Business Objects layer was used for all reporting.Representing the Department on the Architectural Working Group- a cross agency group looking at shared IT solutions across NSW government departmentsRepresenting the Department on the GCIO working groups for SOA and Enterprise Architecture across the NSW government.Initiated and ran a server virtualisation project to save several million dollars a year recurrent costs.

Designing and developing a ColdFusion/ SQL ECommerce system

Writing server side servlets, client side JavaScript and XSLT for the front end of their ERP application. The front end communicates with the back end via a Javascript API and XML. Different XSLT templates are used for dynamic sorting and formatting of data to be displayed. The XML is produced via Servlets running under Tomcat application server.

Combining and rebuilding the various internal intranets vodafone has into one centrally managed system to be used in a call centre environment.Created a CMS based around Coldfusion/SQLServer/ and supervised the conversion of thousands pages of content into the new system.Accessing and prototyping customer relationship management systems (CRM) and knowledge base systems.
