Dan Berwick is Borrego Solar’s General Manager of Development, with executive responsibility for all aspects of the project development business unit. Dan joined Borrego Solar in 2010, and has previously served as the company’s Director of Policy and Business Development, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, and most recently as General Manager of Energy Storage. In these roles, Dan has managed policy and government affairs for the company, led Borrego Solar’s market expansion efforts in New York, and launched Borrego’s energy storage business. Prior to joining Borrego Solar, Dan worked on renewable energy policy reform at the Texas House of Representatives. He’s also worked in the utilities practice area at The Brattle Group, an economic consulting firm, and he supported Federal policy efforts for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. Dan earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Sloan School of Management and his Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Assisted Pew's VP for Government Outreach during active period of energy and climate policy-making in Congress. Wrote 100-page summary of HR 2454 (Waxman-Markey) and met with congressional staffs about legislation.

Researched and modeled a range of topics in energy finance, accounting, and economics, including cost of capital and its relationship to credit rating, the effect of volatility on investment, leasing, and issues in regulatory accounting.

Researched and wrote, devised strategy for, and drove passage of several bills. Subjects included renewable energy, vehicle emissions, carbon capture and sequestration, energy efficiency, and adverse health events.Representative Strama hired me to add energy and environmental issues to his legislative portfolio, and his office is now considered to be among the most expert and able on energy in the Texas Capitol.POLITICAL

Raised $200,000 with a campaign contribution limit of $100, from a record 2200 contributors. Worked with community leaders to help the Mayor craft second-term priorities. Wrote and produced TV commercial.

FieldWorks is a political consulting firm specializing in grassroots organizing and field strategies.Built and ran League of Conservation Voters' Environmental Victory Project in 2004 presidential campaign, which visited 1.3 million homes, on budget of $2.6 million. Regarded as one of the most efficient and effective campaign programs in 2004 cycle. Worked with senior leaders in the national campaign and DC non-profit communities.Designed 21st Century Democrats' Young Voter Project in 2004, which mobilized young people to vote for Democrats. Organization contacted over 300,000 young voters. Created strategy that was copied by other campaigns.
