On completion of training, I was drafted to Fleet Protection Group, Royal Marines. Where my job was to guard the countries nuclear deterrent.After 2 years I qualified as a Communications Specialist and was drafted to HMS Illustrious, my role was to work as part of a small detachment, fault finding any technical issues during exercises and maintain secure communications, either from the Amphibious Operations Room on ship, from the air or on land.
