Responsibile for the operations and maintenance of one 345 KV – 34.5 KV substation and two 230 KV - 34.5 substations, the associated underground collection system and 45 miles of transmission line for all the stations. These stations serve to supply power to and collect power from 350 wind turbine generators that produce a total of 600 MW. My responsibilities include inspecting, testing, repairing and installing substation equipment; pad mount transformers; circuit junction boxes; line locating; underground fault locating and cable repair; protection and control relays; high voltage switching operations; communications and network systems; coordinating contractors and vendors for FERC and NERC testing requirements; and ensuring the operational condition and readiness of the facilities.Leader of the Power Delivery Safety Commitee; member of the Power Delivery Switching Commitee; certified Substation and Padmount Transformer Switching Instructor; certified as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

Performed inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of Zond 750 KW wind turbine generators. This included work on the turbines converter system, hydraulic syatem and mechanical system.I also managed, troubleshot and repaired the site communications and network systems. This included work on both copper, fiber optic and wireless applications.

-Qualified as Electricians Mate of the Watch which consisted of maintaining the shipboard power system through the monitoring and control of ship voltage and load distribution via operation of electrical plant switchboards, steam turbine generators and power system circuit breakers.-Lead electrician in the installation of shore power activities. Coordinated with pier personnel, managed work groups of shipboard rigging personnel and ensured proper SOP’s and safety practices followed.-Installed, troubleshot and repaired motors, controllers, lighting circuits, circuit breakers, battery systems and support equipment. -Conducted numerous at sea repair activities which gave our ship a strong reputation for self-sufficiency in the fleet group. Received letters of Appreciation/Commendation for these tasks.-Divisional maintenance scheduler responsible for the assignment of planned maintenance tasks for a work group of 12 electrician mates.-Divisional inventory control petty officer responsible for maintaining parts and equipment stock, as well as, procurement of parts for emergency restorations.
