Having gained a variety of industry experience, Dr Reece Hill and I formed LandSystems Ltd, a small consultancy based in Hamilton New Zealand. LandSystems builds upon our work within regional government and provides clients with over 30 years of combined experience providing specialist land resource and GIS services, primarily for projects within rural industry and regional governance.

Dan has most recently been employed by Waikato Regional Council (10 years) where he has worked primarily with members the Resource Information Group science team providing robust information and innovative analyses to support a variety of work streams and help inform policy decisions. During this time he has been involved in projects at all levels of government and has developed a strong understanding of land and soil issues, resource management and spatial modelling to support decision making.

Following completion of a Masters degree in Geographical Information Science, Dan worked on a variety of national infrastructure projects with M.C. O'Sullivan and Company, consulting engineers in Dublin. During this time he was involved in rolling out GIS across the company offices, constraint analyses and programming of various GIS add-ons to allowing more efficient use of GI technologies throughout the organisation.
