Current• Manage office staff and plant in a multi-million dollar operation.• Oversee and delegate office duties, scheduling priorities and operational priorities to the plant.• Expert in metal fabrication operations - shearing, punching, braking, sawing, laser cutting, mig-welding, spotwelding, robotic welding, panel welding, etc.• Expert in wood construction methods and techniques (routing, sawing, assembly)• Expert in plastic fabrication-Thermo forming, heat bending routing edge polishing. • Responsible for staff hiring and staff development.• Manage sales staff and work with them on product development and customer relations. • Oversee new product design to ensure it meets customer needs. • Oversee engineering team and delegate tasks to them. • Manage prototype fabrication and give final approval to design. • Provide quoting/lead times for all new parts and repeat parts. • Lead design reviews to ensure DFM needs are met. • Manage engineering/tooling project timelines to fulfill customer needs. • Assign tasks to Purchasing for sourcing and quoting of needed materials. Make final purchasing decisions. • Communicate with shop manager to ensure critical timelines are met. • Support engineering team by offering design guidance and direction. • Manage tooling design to ensure that they are mistake-proof. • Manage deployment and upgrades of ERP software for entire plant. • Oversee computer network, manage password lists for entire plant• Schedule and delegate computer network management to IT agency. • Lead staff meetings to build teamwork, set goals and review company needs. • Analyze sales and shipping reports to plan for future business.• Review new order list weekly and assign job creation list to process engineer. • Manage Engineering change requests from shop. • Manage implementation of Data Migration Tool to improve speed of order entry and packing slip entry. • Work with shop in selection and purchase of new equipment and machinery.
