In this role I triage crisis calls for individuals during the most daunting moments of their lives: those moments in which they feel the least hope and the greatest uncertainty about their futures. This role also allows me to counsel individuals in crisis and create a space where they are allowed to express what has brought them to this point in their lives. I attempt to persuade individuals that there is a reason why they reached out- to get help and ultimately save their own lives, with the intention of creating a successful, hopeful future. The role is both high-stakes and very rewarding, it requires a keen attention to detail as well as compassion, respect, and quick-thinking.
