It all started at summer camp five decades ago as my love of the outdoors and 'simple and profound' experiences was instilled deep in me. I had no idea where this 'seed' would take me but this path has included ventures and experience in Hospitality, Events & Festivals, optimizing underutlized assets, Guiding and helping people to connect with nature. My underlying passion and purpose is to preserve and better utilize nature based assets in ways that benefit people and communities. This is needed more than ever as assets and wild places are lost and society becomes more tech oriented and addicted. The world will be a better place and people will be healthier when individuals are better connected to nature.My experience is at the crossroads of business and land stewardship with extensive Land Use, Real Estate, Recreation, Event, and Hospitality experience. This includes deep knowledge of the Entertainment, Lifestyle and Wellness spaces. My background includes strategic planning, concept and business development, fundraising, marketing and branding and identifying emerging societal needs and 'trends' that help tackle various issues and challenges. We must work to find a balance between capitalism and materialism and 'doing the right thing'. I believe that business needs to make a difference in our world. Everest) three times as part of trips for Sears Roebuck and American Recreation. > Worked with the band Hot Buttered Rum and brought them to national prominence in just a few years. > Extensive food, wine and music festival experience. The company focuses on wilderness trips predominantly in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range and was named one of the top global outfitters by National Geographic.Efforts focused on business and program development and included the roll out of corporate, school and health club programs. This included three corporate outings with Sir Edmund Hillary (first person to summit Mt. Everest) and Sears Roebuck, Editors of Outdoor Retailer, and outings for Outside Magazine. SYMG was the first company to guide the John Muir Trail and I also developed our lifestyle 'Wine and Wilderness' backcountry trips which brought wineries and winemakers into the wilderness with their wine club members on pack supported high country adventures.
