The aim of this project was to facilitate economic growth across Scotland through the provision of additional capacity at Scottish Water’s wastewater treatment works. I also performed risk management, including governance application checks and approval as well as managing NEC3 PSC Option E and ECC Option C contracts.Reviewing project progress, I verified that design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities were programmed to ensure that schemes met their delivery deadline and budget. Here, I led multiple teams across many directorates, including CSD, SCSP, MD, Developer Services, Commercial and the Alliances. I also ensured effective project delivery through using multiple tools, including Pull Plans, Project Reviews, daily huddles, and commitment based management and Kanbans.Achievements-Led strategic review of the investment programme to develop, agree and monitor performance initiatives -Collaborated with key stakeholders and Scottish Water’s Alliance Partners, to propose several strategies to realise efficiencies in project durations, whilst maintaining and improving cost certainty and health & safety, quality and environmental standards-Delivered a collaborative demonstrator project to get 13 capital investment projects to site in half the time and reduce costs by 10%. Delivered key improvements and a 41% reduction in planned time to site and an 8% reduction in costs-Proposed £500K+ of capital investment savings along with numerous improvements to health and safety on a particular project due to elimination of construction activities following design review challenges-Further professionalised project delivery through submitting several process improvements and coaching numerous stakeholders on new processes as well as providing mentoring and training for graduates and colleagues -

Here, I delivered effective early contractor involvement services to the client’s feasibility consultant, successfully achieving Y1 spend whilst enabling ground investigation surveys, land acquisition notices and planning application designs. I also oversaw the design of temporary and permanent works installations on high pressure pipelines for a water treatment works and a hydropower installation.Amp 5 Small and Block Schemes Programme, Year 5 ProgrammeLeading various project teams to support programme delivery, I built cohesive relationships with various client teams to ensure successful project delivery. Here, I managed a 12-month programme to remotely coordinate and lead geographically diverse, multidisciplinary design teams as well as a large international supply chain. I also coordinated complex contractual arrangements as a result of the client’s drive for procurement efficiency through established supply frameworks. Collaborating with Design Engineers to navigate limits of design scope across contracts, resulting in successful and safe installation on site I won a nomination for a regional industry award, an entry into the UK Water Industry 2014 publication and a nomination for an internal company Project Manager of the Year Award.Market Drayton STW Secondary M&E Replacement projectDelivering end-to-end management of project lifecycle, I oversaw a feasibility study, outline design and pricing project stages for Market Drayton STW Secondary M&E Replacement project. The main objective of this project was to replace ageing secondary aeration M&E plant as site was extremely vulnerable to final effluent consent as well as suffering several upper tier failures.Leading a team of mechanical, electrical and process technical experts as well as working collaboratively with the client, we identified on-site issues, proposed suitable solutions and generated target price around a robust commissioning strategy. Here, I successfully gained agreement on target price, outline design and commissioning solutions for handover to delivery team. The result was successful scheme completion that saved the client £32K+ per annum in operating expenses and carbon reduction. The scheme was also delivered without significant deviation from my proposed design and commissioning strategy. -
