Dan is an American screenwriter, director, editor, and producer known for The Signal, The Vault (starring James Franco), The Dark Red, and Tomorrow's Monsters (Starring John Boyega and Darren Criss). A storyteller at heart, Dan has worked in various positions on film sets for over 30 years, earning a reputation as an actor’s director and for his character-driven films.In 2006, Dan founded his indie production company, Psychopia Pictures, and co-wrote and co-directed his first feature, The Signal, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and earned several award nominations, including Best Picture at the Sitges Film Festival and the John Cassavetes Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. His subsequent films include the sci-fi thriller The Reconstruction of William Zero and the award-winning short Ghost of Old Highways. Dan’s feature, The Dark Red, premiered at the Austin Film Festival and was released in theaters in 2020. He is currently leading several new IPs, including Tomorrow's Monsters, a Flynn Picture Company co-production starring John Boyega and Darren Criss, The Mantawauk Caves, a Blumhouse Television/iHeart Podcasts production starring Jonathan Tucker and Edi Gathegi (which won Best Fiction Podcast at the 2024 iHeart Podcast Awards), and The Passage (starring Dan Fogler, Scott Haze, Wes Studi, Tristan Mack Wilds, and Martin Starr). Dan also served as a writing producer and consultant on the podcast Fight Night and The Million Dollar Heist, which has been adapted into a Peacock TV show starring Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Hart, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard.Dan is a driving force behind The Kylie Sonique Love Experience, a podcast celebrating identity, transformation, and empowerment, produced in collaboration with actor and producer Scott Haze.
