I've had the opportunity to be a early or founding member of several teams at Zenreach, including the Platform Team, Local Ads Team, Enterprise Team, and the Developer Productivity Team. On the Platform Team, I helped build our CRM and Public API. On the enterprise team, I lead the effort to internationalize our django back-end and build a real-time integrations platform. This effort unblocked negotiations and allowed us to win our largest enterprise contract to date. As a founding member of the Local Ads Team, I have built tooling, a service-framework, and a number of services in support of our Advertising product.

At Opsee, I was an early member of the backend team that helped build our infrastructure monitoring product from the ground up. As I became familiar with our stack, my contributions grew from helping to build services that comprise the Opsee Bastion (a coreOS based "agent" launched via cloudformation into a customer VPC) to the design and implementation of core production services -- like our alerts pipeline and integrations with slack and pagerduty or the consumption and retrieval of historical metrics (and associated infrastructure). Opsee exposed me to a number of unique challenges (like managing Bastion ingress via cross account access) and provided great mentors that always nudged me in the right direction when I got stuck.

I believe that one of the key failures of Computer Science education is boring culture. As a tutor at InstaEDU, I was surprised at the number of young students who saw Computer Science as a series of structured assignments to be completed rather than a tool for exploration. After talking to a number of students, I'm certain that if my first exposure to programming had been in the classroom rather than on IRC I'd have chosen a different career.With assignmentexchange, I wanted to create a learning community that was more like IRC than the classroom, yet still provided a robust platform for tutors to interact with students and get paid. Have tutored over 125 students in Computer Science and have recieved 99% positive feedback. Topics included basic and intermediate Java, basic and intermediate Python, security topics in Metasploit, basic Javascript and JQuery, intermediate and advanced topics in Information Security, and explanations of various programming paradigmns.

Worked as a .NET Developer with Commerce Networks, LLC in Auburn, AL. Duties included: lead maintenance and support for the entirety of Commerce Networks, LLC’s email server infrastruc- ture (which serves hundreds of customers); Lead Developer for all of Commerce Networks, LLC’s Android Applications and iOS applications, Development of multiple C .NET websites, both with and without custom CMS; Project Lead on DNS transition from Nettica to Amazon’s Route53; Supporting engineer for transition to Microsoft Azure for Express85.com; Supporting Engineer for various external API integrations for various sites (e.g. Twilio, Facebook, Yelp, etc); Lead Security Engineer for both web and email.

Digital Forensics and User Traceability: Investigated the viability of utilizing crowd-sourcing services to gather forensic information online. Performed various case studies on the efficacy of using self- information as a tool for identifying cases of username reuse. Currently investigation the correlation between username and password uniqueness.RT-24: Played a supporting role in research meant to facilitate closer integration of DoDAF into software design activities with the objectives of reducing re-work, reducing development cycle time, and improving resource efficiency. (Funded by the National Security Agency)Counter-IED Medical Technology Initiative: Worked on Software Development team tasked with prototyping a dynamic medical simulation. Primary duties included game engine analysis and system architecture analysis, design, and implementation. (Funded by the Joint Improvised Explosive Defeat Organiztion)UAV Flight Path Scheduling: Tasked with the creation of a simulation environment for implementing and testing dynamic flight-path scheduling algorithms. Duties include firmware development on ArduPilot and ArduPilot mega and the implementation of a universal, cross-platform compatible ground-station. Also investigating the use of 2D cellular automata in flight path scheduling. (Funded by intermural grant, Auburn University).

I was responsible for conducting a survey and presenting a briefing on the security of Android and iOS mobile devices. My briefing helped our directorate determine whether to purchase iOS devices or Android devices following the demise of RIM.

Developed supporting visualization tools for the Interactive Distributed Engineering Evaluation and Analysis Simulation (IDEEAS). Extended IDEEAS to support scenario playback. Significantly reduced memory consumption by populating key data structures with a SAX parser rather than the DOM parser previously utilized by the simulation.

Ported large legacy library from C++ to Java. The library subsisted, primarily, of functions used for calculating probability of hit and probability kill values for predefined weapon, target pairs. The ported library was tested extensively against the legacy C++ dll (which was controlled via a JNI interface), and a standalone fortran variant.

Improved utilization of large legacy DLL (eliminated redundant calculations, implemented lazy loading system, caching, etc). Refactored code netted a 32% performance increase over pure legacy code. Memory consumption was also significantly reduced.

Duties included analysis and comparison of the capabilities of NASA and Army rocket systems. Final analysis was directed at LEO capability, specifically.

Utilized Mini-Rocket simulation tool to calculated various ballistic parameters for a non-conventional projectile. Parameters were compared with empiracle test data. Panda3D was utilized to create a real-time 3D visualization of projectile flight. 2D visualization was implemented in Java.
