Dan Cable retired from USAA in April 2021 formerly leading The USAA Educational Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 entity. During his USAA career, Dan also led several large teams as a USAA Executive including Process Engineering, Business Support Solutions, Business Advisors, Business Management, Resource Management and IT Small Modifications. Prior to USAA, Dan joined HEB for 5 years, a large retail company in San Antonio where he led the HEB Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management team and established Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory capabilities for self-manufacturing and commodity hedging strategies to mitigate product pricing risk. He was directly responsible for non-retail procurement activities for an $800M expense line/portfolio. He has a strong background in leading procurement teams both in the corporate environment and military.Dan started his professional career as a U.S. Air Force officer where he served for 20 years and flew combat missions during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He spent the majority of his military career leading large teams to support National Priority Flight Test programs including the Airborne Laser Weapon System.Dan served on the Christian Senior Services Board of Directors for 7 years (Meals on Wheels of San Antonio), and remains active in his community by leading Financial Literacy classes at his church.
