I became Production Art Director in 1981 after working in the Production Art Department since 1972. My duties include:• Overseeing and coordinating workflow along with participating in the creation of graphics and hands on decoration for prototypes, finished art for print production and the generation of display instruction sheets.• Working closely with Engineering Department Cad DXF files for accurate sizes to relate to the preparation of graphics, and the Model Shop with the graphic application onto the prototype(s). • Finding & purchasing stock photos for projects when necessary or coordinating off site studio photography with products & props. • Directing off site graphic artists and print vendors in aiding our department with the finished product, and participating with determining costs for these services. Working directly with clients/agencies with the uploading or downloading of graphic files through online FTP sites.
