CurrentResponsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of 2.9 million square feet over 26 campuses across the district. Plan, prioritize and direct the work of all building and grounds personnel involved in the maintenance to effectively and expeditiously complete repairs in adherence to district polices, sound maintenance practices and urgency of operations. Analyze needs and make recommendations on how to efficiently utilize Maintenance and Operations, Capital Improvement and Building Fund budgets totaling approximately $22 million dollars to achieve district goals. Prepare specifications and submits cost estimates of proposed work activities. Develop, plan, coordinate and oversee new construction projects and remodels in consultation with architects, engineers and construction teams to ensure efficient use of district funds and timely completion; develop annual priority list for maintenance of buildings through the management of Capital Improvements budget. Communicate regularly with administrators, school board members, contractors, architects, city officials and various other entities in the community to develop and maintain positive school/community relationships. Recruit, hire, develop, manage, evaluate and lead staff of 95 office, custodial, maintenance, warehouse and grounds personnel. Conduct routine and periodic inspections of schools and facilities to ensure compliance with the Arkansas Division of Public Schools Academic Facilities regulations as well as State and local codes and ordinances; oversees compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Coordinate in-service training for maintenance, custodial and grounds personnel on new equipment and work methods; conduct safety inspections, accident investigations and training programs to create a safe environment. Oversee the energy management program for efficient use of resources through the use of a computerized energy management tracking system. Oversee security of district facilities.
