Dan is now a Director for Credit Card in Business Line Risk at ALLY.Previous to his work at Ally he worked for TIAA-CREF since 2007. Responsibilities have varied over the years. He was the Director of Real Estate Lending Operations for a start up bank, TIAA Direct. His responsibilities included working with project teams (internal and external) to stand up the operation (both origination and servicing) and help build the bank from the ground up. This includes working with external vendors, consultants and internal partners. Part of his job duties included setting up a QC/QA function to ensure proper governance and proper risk controls for the lending platform. Dan partners with internal audit, compliance and legal teams along with external regulators (OCC, CFPB) to help mitigate and control risk. New process engineering and and change management are important aspects of this work.Prior to leading the lending area Dan worked in the pension operations arena as a manager. Here he managed over 30 direct reports to ensure daily operational effectiveness. This included change management, creating new processes and execution along with employee engagement and development. Prior to joining TIAA-CREF Dan worked for 12 years at First Union/Wachovia leading the fulfillment teams which included sales, processing, underwriting closing and vendor management. Efforts here led to closing over $100,000 million in retail loan volume per month on a regular basis.He is an extremely hard working individual with an attention to detail mindset. His goal oriented and results driven philosophy with priorities around company values and employee development have demonstrated positive results wherever he has worked.
