As an adjunct faculty member at Dalhousie University, I teach two advanced courses:N4471 - Emergency Preparedness (April 2023; Sept 2023; April 2024; Sept 2024): This course takes an "all hazards" approach, preparing future nurses to respond effectively to various hazards. Students explore local, provincial, and national disaster response systems and develop competencies in caring for victims and responders during mass casualty events. The course places a strong emphasis on resilience and adaptability, ensuring that students are well-prepared to handle crisis scenarios with confidence and security.N4472 - Acute & Critical Care Nursing (Sept 2024; Jan 2025): This course provides in-depth knowledge and skills for nursing in high-acuity and critical care settings. Through case-based learning and evidence-based practice, students gain the expertise to support complex patient care, focusing on stabilization, advanced assessment, and intervention strategies in critical situations.I integrate theory with practical application in both courses to equip nursing students with the skills and confidence needed in dynamic healthcare environments.
