I joined the ‘Start-Up’ Guardian Financial Services at Easter 2018, into a small team comprised primarily of contract testers. Testing the suite of systems built to administer the Life and Critical Illness Insurance offering of Guardian Financial Services, including off-the-shelf applications (such as the integration of Salesforce) and custom-built systems (The Policy administration system, Adviser and Customer Extranets to create and manage protection policies, Customer Documents, Portal Gateway API for external comparison websites, Actuarial and the Underwriting Workbench). Responsibilities:• Development, Maintenance, Tailoring, Execution and Analysis of Automated Tests (AXE, written in Selenium C#), to bolster and support the manual test effort. • Development and maintenance of stand-alone tools to aid the manual test effort.• Writing and executing manual tests in support of the manual testers (Web Apps, Back-end systems and API requests/responses using Postman).• Environment Shakedown (Smoke) Testing.• Monitoring debugging issues with the test environments (Glowroot)• Contributing towards the Test Strategy & Principles• Collaboration with Delivery Managers, Partners and Programme Manages providing meaningful estimates and defining project/sprint scope.• Collaboration with Operations in supporting releases into each environment (Test, Preprod and Production).• Supporting the Junior Automation Engineer with automation design and scripting.• Reporting (Daily Progress & Test Completion Reports)• Defect Management (Running daily triage sessions, prioritisation, assignment, follow-up, governance)• Stakeholder ManagementAchievements:• Maintenance of 350+ suites of automated tests.• Lead the testing of the Actuarial repricing project • Identified gaps in the existing automation where tests were being passing execution in error. Investigated, and corrected assumptions being made, in order to fix the issue. Making a more robust Automation offering.

Over a number of years worked as a Test Analyst and Senior Test Analyst for AXA Wealth, which had since been bought by Phoenix Group. Responsibilities included end-to-end testing of the in-house built software. Ranging from the back office pension administration system, quotes, workflow, Biztalk and downstream Finance systems. Also tested website development, including both content managed and non-content managed websites and more recently websites optimised for mobile and tablet users.
