Having raced an ex-Nigel Mansell Lotus F1 car for over 10 years in historic events, I drew the short straw and became Chairman of the group tasked with running the FIA Championship for these cars.Organising a Championship and getting 20 plus drivers and teams to events all over Europe and occasionally beyond was a little like herding cats but the end result was worth the effort.The general economic malaise of the past few years stretched the financial viability of the Championship and we elected to merge with The Masters Series to ensure the survival of the Championship and keep these fantastic machines racing.
