Activities include neighborhood meetings, support of neighborhood improvement projects, reviewing commercial and residential development proposals, and reviewing and commenting on neighborhood matters to be discussed at higher governmental levels. The DMNA serves as the official liaison between its constituents and Minneapolis’ City Council and Planning Department (CPED).

The Minnesota African American Museum (MAAM) is an educational, cultural and archival museum dedicated to researching, presenting, acquiring and preserving the history of African Americans in Minnesota. As a community resource, MAAM seeks to ignite discovery and fuel interest in learning experiences derived from studying history presented through museum exhibits and educational/artistic programs. Through creative programming MAAM strives to be an integral community, educational, artistic and cultural asset bringing a powerful cultural presence to the State and region, making MAAM a regional destination for visitors and residents alike.

The Collegeville Institute Fellows Program, which is funded by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment is comprised of 12 fellows who are accomplished pastors in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area and who have approximately 5 to 15 years of experience, with 20 or more years to give in ministry to church and community.
