GeoEye was a NASDAQ listed satellite Earth imagery and data analytics services provider to U.S. and foreign defense and intelligence agencies worldwide and Internet based GPS and mapping services companies (e.g., Google Maps). Held top secret security clearance. Managed day to day legal and compliance operations and legal staff of 14 professionals; also served as Assistant Secretary. Advised on all due diligence, merger agreement, combination planning and anti-trust compliance matters during DigitalGlobe's $1.2B acquisition of GeoEye, which closed in January 2013.

Served as general counsel or associate general counsel at various early stage technology companies (Kleiner Perkins telecom start-up Broadband Office, Inc., satellite imagery spinoff Orbimage, Inc. and remote satellite broadband provider Tachyon, Inc.). In 2001, negotiated and closed a Section 363 sale of BroadBand Office, Inc. ($6M) while in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Counseled and advised on various international wireline, satellite and wireless licensing rulemakings, adjudicatory proceedings and policy matters. Key organizer of the first ever Spectrum En Banc meeting of the Commission. Authored (i) the first remote sensing/geospatial satellite license issued by the FCC, (ii) innovative low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite spectrum sharing rules for commercial and government operators and (iii) various other FCC satellite and wireless deregulatory initiatives.
