A native of Northern Virginia, Dan graduated from Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia and later, from Boston College in 1981. After graduating from B.C., Dan served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps from 1981 through 1982, teaching and working with children in underserved neighborhoods in Washington D.C. Following that, Dan enrolled in George Mason University School of Law (now the Antonin Scalia Law School) graduating in 1985. Over the years, Dan became licensed to practice in GA, FL, VA, DC, PA, NY and MD; and handled the investigation, prosecution, and, in some instances, trial of civil cases in state and federal courts in those jurisdictions, often in collaboration with other attorneys. Dan is also admitted as a Member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Over his years of practice, Dan was also active in various church, school, youth sports, and many other volunteer activities. Dan has recently retired from active practice. Dan was a recipient of an American Bar Association Liberty Bell Award for his long standing community service working to educate middle school students about the American Legal System.Since retiring, Dan has remained active with a variety of volunteer activities, including St. Vincent de Paul of Georgia; The S-Factor (St. Thomas More Catholic Church); Fripp Island Sea Rescue; and Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition.
