As “Intrapreneur” in large organization, led expansion of the World Bank’s “innovation marketplace” from a $3.5 million to a $10 million annual program. The DM’s model of support for small-scale solutions to social and economic challenges was designated a “best practice” in corporate innovation by Harvard Business Review.Decentralized the program by tripling coverage of the country-level DM competitions to 17 countries per year and doubled funding to over $5 million. Achieved this growth via levering of external funds while maintaining a fixed administrative budget.Managed team of 11 professionals; direct operational responsibilities included negotiating a streamlined funding and budget framework, recruiting and mentoring a young and dynamic team.Led analysis of finance and private sector as core member of World Bank’s Strategic Scenario Team exploring the potential impact of radically divergent futures on the development industry.
