Accountable to deliver project control services to project teams; providing timely and reliable project controls information and ensuring consistent implementation of planning, scheduling, project reporting and project lifecycle conformance policies, processes, and standards. These services facilitate oversight, guidance, and support for all large construction projects including cost estimating and cost tracking through entire project lifecycle.

Provides leadership in the identification, development and implementation of strategies to address critical EHS trends in Union Gas’ day to day operations and major construction projects. Also provides leadership of EHS support to Union Gas’ major construction projects. Engages at a leadership level with external industry groups including the CGA.

Develop corporate EHS strategy, including defining tactics, management of change, and communication. Manage the successful implementation of EHS policies, procedures and programs by partnering with client groups in aligning and integrating EHS continuous improvement with business strategies and operating plans to safeguard employees, customers and communities, as well as, ensuring regulatory and legal compliance. Provide managerial leadership to a diverse and geographically dispersed EHS Field team and manage EHS Field budget. As a leader, partners with various business groups to support them in their achievement of business results by providing strategic and tactical advice.

Manage the relationship between internal clients and external service providers in order to ensure all facilities are code compliant, including life safety, and that all record keeping activities are current. Responsible for oversight of security personnel and asset protection throughout the province. Provide contractor oversight, project management support, and work closely with EHS during audits, addressing employee concerns throughout the company, and other EHS initiatives. As a member of the Corporate Real Estate Services group assist in the development and tracking of capital and operational budgets; analyzing performance to identify opportunities for increasing efficiencies.

As part of the senior management team of a Crown corporation develop corporate plans, establish financial and safety goals and objectives for the company, and provide input into the development of long term planning for infrastructure improvements. Create and implement comprehensive asset management programs to ensure asset integrity in order to meet or exceed the due diligence requirements of the company and to protect employees and other stakeholders. Work closely with various levels of government to ensure goals and priorities of the Authority were represented in policy and regulation developments. Lead and developed a highly skilled staff (union/salary), including employee selection, performance evaluations, determining training requirements, and career development. Oversight of construction projects including multiple contractors including preplanning, project execution, and project closure.
