I performed building layout duties required for the construction of commercial high rise buildings and parking structures. In support of these duties I was responsible for maintaining a full set of construction blueprints, as well as changes, requests for information, shop drawings, and bolt templates. I was responsible for all layout of footings, columns, walls, concrete anchors, concrete embeds, structural steel bolt templates, stairs, and elevators to be built on this project. I was responsible for as-built surveys of all bolt locations after concrete was poured.I had daily use and responsibility to maintain the Total Station surveying equipment with which I increased the speed and accuracy of the layout responsibilities which our crew accomplished.

I was originally hired as a journeyman layout carpenter responsible for various aspects of the concrete construction with the use of the Total Station surveying equipment and was required to maintain a full set of construction blueprints and all changes, RFI's, Shop drawings, etc. Later I became responsible to supervise in the construction of of all scaffold and decking for the suspended concrete floor that supported the swimming pools for the resort. This was in addition to my layout duties.As the project progressed I was given the the added responsibility to supervise up to 8 carpenters and laborers, the concrete finisher crew on pour days and all subcontractors involved with the construction of the slab-on-grade in the area of "back of house".

I was in charge of all carpenters and laborers that were on this project that worked for Gillett Construction. In addition I monitored and supervised the subcontractors that were contracted to support this company on this project. Our scope of work was all concrete work, including; building layout, footings, walls, columns, structural steel bolt templates,and slab-on-grade for this project. We accomplished this project on time and within budget for a profit for this company. I then went on to other small projects for this company with the same basic responsibilities. These projects include; the Mandalay Bay Casino Parking Structure, The Palms Casino Buffet Remodel, The Venetian Casino Retail Outlet Tenant Improvement.

My duties here were to rig and unrig construction loads on the tower crane for the needs of building the tower project. I rigged construction members and signaled the crane operator to maneuver loads into position of installation. I also rigged and signaled for the concrete bucket during concrete pours for slabs, walls, and columns.
