Regional Fire Chief
CurrentReporting to the Administrator, Regional District of Kootenay Boundary, the Regional Fire Chief is responsible for the administration and delivery of all fire protection services according to board policy, within the ‘specified area’.The Regional Fire Chief is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the firefighting and fire prevention functions of the Regional Fire Service and for other related duties.The Regional Fire Chief is responsible for the selection, direction and supervision of staff, training, budgeting and all other administrative matters, and for the development and improvement of the department to keep abreast of changing conditions and technological changes in fire protection/prevention services.Ensuring that there is a high level of morale within the career and volunteer ranks and maintaining a positive working relationship between manpower components and fire stations.
