Curriculum Area Manager (Work Based Learning)
I led and managed the work based and work placed elements of our health, care and early years curriculum here at the College. This is an employer and learner facing role with an emphasis on curriculum design and developments to meet the needs of employers. I worked across the range of employers in the sector including a large southwest based NHS Trust leading the design and implementation of the higher apprenticeship in health and more locally on the implementation of the early years educator qualification into the level 3 CYPWF framework for SMEs.I also worked with Capita Health Partners and Tribal to successfully deliver almost 200 level 2 and 3 clinical healthcare support diplomas to Trusts across the southwest using a blended learning model and the Learning4health Southwest platform. I also led a JISC funded project to create learning materials for the level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools framework whilst at the College.I was the Cluster Lead for automotive, engineering, construction and foundation learning at the College which involves working with other CAMs to support and monitor KPI data, recruitment, contract management, review and action planning. I also sat on the Academic Planning and Development Committee and deputising for the Director of Curriculum. As such, I was involved in the strategic management of the College at this time.Latest work included preparing for Trailblazer standards, curriculum development to maximise funding and flexibility, project work funded by the AoC and HESW and developing bridging programmes to HE alongside teaching level 3, 4 and 5 programmes in health and social care.
Curriculum Area Manager (He And Access To He)
As part of this role I also served as a programme manager for the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care and FDa Health and Community Studies for 8 months which gave me valuable experiences working with HE learners in a personal tutor and teaching role. I led the validation of a new degree programme which was successfully launched in Sept 2013. In addition to this role I also coached, mentored and professionally supported 43 teaching staff across two sites in their teaching and learning practice and mentor PGCE students. I managd a team of 11 staff across 6 programmes of study. I was graded by one of our lead teachers as "outstanding with exemplar practice" in Jan 2013. Latterly I worked in the implementation of the Higher Apprenticeship Health (Assistant Practitioner), blended learning opportunities with Health Education Southwest and developing additional HE modules with local employers.I also acted the quality manager for our SSA which involved collation, analysis and reporting of KPI data which is then monitored and action planned in conjunction with the SSA lead.
E Learning Project Manager (Learning 4 Health)
As the project manager for our partnership with Somerset College working with health professionals and Trusts to develop content I expanded my health knowledge in this role. I worked closely with a range of service and education stakeholders to produce over 600 e learning activities to support in service CPD and blended learning opportunities. I developed and implemented short HE courses delivered with our local acute trust to support progression to HE as well and developed opportunities for the launch of level 2 and 3 health diplomas for clinical staff.
Programme Leader (Access)
I moved into this role to broaden my experience and taught first and third year degree modules, A levels as well as Access to HE. I worked with HEIs to align our curriculum with their requirements to maximise the chances of our learners profession and was able to provide access to health and social care professionals which further supported our learners. During this role I was appointed to oversee the partnership with Somerset College which resulted in moving to a full time appointment as the project manager
Programme Leader And Lecturer (Public Services)
Starting as a sessional lecturer and gaining full time employment as a lecturer and personal tutor in 2004 I worked with, and from 2008, led the team from grade 3 to grade 1 in 2010.
