I am delighted to have the opportunity to follow through with a successful collaboration that I initiated in my previous role in SABIC Ventures with ag-tech company BiOWiSH. We are developing a new agricultural product that addresses climate change at a potentially larger scale, lower cost and more rapid timeline than I have seen for any other technology. I also oversee SABIC Agri-Nutrient's portfolio of technology projects and continue to engage with the external technology ecosystem.

SABIC has a particularly strategically focused venturing function. I coordinated with SABIC's business units on their external technology needs, and identified innovative technologies in start-up companies to enable their future business growth. I then built strategic business cases for SABIC, and proposed deal structures through which to best engage with the start-up (equity investment, licensing JDA, JV) and undertook due diligence on candidate companies. I completed several deals, some of which are still successfully ongoing either as a technology currently deployed within SABIC''s operations or a new product that we now sell.

Leader of technical program plans aimed at developing new markets for SABIC’s plastic materials in the solar energy space. Initiated several new programs and defined IP, infrastructure, staffing and budgetary needs.

• Start-up of a new Fraunhofer center focused on collaborative R&D with industry in renewable energy. • Identified technical areas of focus, equipped laboratory, built-up group to 12 researchers, and established strong partnerships with industrial customers.• Responsible for P&L of group. Developed business involving contract R&D projects with industry relating to new PV module products and constituent materials. Grew industrial revenues to over $1MM and oversaw annual budget of $1.5MM• As person responsible for contract revenue, developed necessary marketing plan and skills.• Development of working partnerships with complimentary institutes including national labs, universities and other Fraunhofer centers. • Development of highly motivated team of project managers accountable to myself and to our customers. Customers were sufficiently impressed that they kept returning.

• Project manager on large ($30MM) project concerning the manufacture of a ceramic fiber with carbon core. • Responsibilities included coordinating the activities of the internal development team as well as two external research groups (one a start-up and one a university group). • Worked together with parallel team focused on the development of CVD and carbon fiber manufacturing equipment and factory specification.• Identified innovative time and cost-saving alternative routes to final product. • Initiated collaborative project with external co-development partners to leverage their expertise.

• A leading Silicon Valley based semiconductor equipment manufacturer with a variety of thin film deposition products.• Project manager on diverse range of technical projects encompassing (1) R&D, (2) new system development, and (3) new process development.• Team leader in the development of an etch module for removing a PECVD carbon film from the wafer edge as it exits the deposition module. This involved the design and assembly of a prototype which was used to determine the optimal design, materials, and process for the subsequent production unit. The technology was then successfully implemented in customer fabs. • Lead engineer developing a new generation of PECVD equipment. Focus on modifications for improved variability, defect performance and cost of ownership. The improvements were ultimately launched as a packaged upgrade to existing equipment. • Responsible for transfer of several new products and technologies to customer fabs involving extended travel to Asia.
