Direct experience in organization management, strategic planning, project design and management, community & organizational development with an emphasis in the sectors of education, livelihoods / economic development, community development and organizational development. Has served as Chief of Party on four projects in Egypt, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Has provided in-country technical assistance in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Egypt, West Bank/Gaza, Kosovo, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and Afghanistan. Managed a consortium of 5 organizations to work directly with public schools in Upper Egypt to demonstrate that education can be more dynamic and valuable in the lives of students, school staff and communities. Also worked along side of the Ministry of Education to improve its support services to schools. I worked from project conception, through project start-up and to the mid-point of the project.

My focus was on school governance, community participation in education, school construction and maintenance, and education reform in general. My responsibilities also included designing and implement an $11 million community-managed scholarship program.

Chief Of PartyCare International In Egypt Mar 2001 - Oct 2004Managed a consortium of 3 organizations in a $30 million USAID funded education project in Egypt. Provided strategic and operational management to enable NSP to improve education quality, especially in remote areas of Upper Egypt where there is a larger gap between girls and boys in school. The project constructed 70 primary schools and established 150 community schools especially aimed at providing education to girls in close proximity to their homes. After construcing and establishing schools, the project had a profound impact on how the schools were managed and how teaching and learning happened in classrooms.
