My colleagues tease me about it, but I've had the same the same goal ever since grad school in 1990."I want to own a home movie theater where I can play any movie I want any time I want, and I want to have had something to do with making the capability possible."I wrote the goal like this to carve out a specific set of products I was interested in working with: telecom, on demand video, movies and home entertainment. Also, I'm a movie buff. More importantly, this implies a level of financial success to afford it.So far, I'm doing pretty well. I've got the home theater as of 2006, I've been working on either video or telecom products all along. Currently, I do a lot of work with cable companies on broadband (DOCSIS, Fiber, 5G) and video delivery infrastructure used for on demand movies and HDTV. I'm working with the guys who are trying to get On Demand to the scale where all video is available all the time.
