Dan DORELL is an international architect based in Paris that got a large recognition for the Estonian National Museum, delivered with his partnership Dorell Ghotmeh Tane / Architects (DGT) in septembre 2016 in Tartu. He received in the Venice Biennale of Architecture the 2016 GRAND PRIX D'ARCHITECTURE AFEX, and later in Paris the SILVER MEDAL by the ACADEMIE D’ARCHITECTURE and the award AJAP '08 by the French Ministry of Culture. DORELL is practicing Architecture, Urbanism and Space Design in diverse distant contexts and he develops a poetic, sustainable and site specific architecture. He believes that, despite the homogenizing effects of globalization on architecture and design, unique and sensitive designs can escape the strict boundary of “architecture” and can have positive social, cultural and environmental effects.
