Supervise a team of network professionals involved in development, implementation and manipulation of new and pre-existing systems.Manage the department’s operational budget and represent the campus on various college-wide committees, working with college leadership to establish college networking standards. Develop recommendations for purchase of hardware/software and networking technology that will link a variety of computer systems and communications servers.Oversee the training of personnel and scheduling of daily operations as well as coordinating services with other College departments (Telecommunications, District Computer Operations, College Network Services, and other Campus Departments) as necessary.Supervise all support services throughout the Campus for users and the information technology infrastructure with focus on user satisfaction.Analyze, troubleshoot and implement corrective measures to maintain services for a campus.Consult with administrators, supporting staff and faculty to assess individual and departmental needs and to design efficient, effective responses to meet them.

Responsibilities include maintaining and improving the quality of service to all Campus clients. In support of this constituency, the Network Manager is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and reliable operation of servers and related computing resources, including network security, disaster recovery, documentation of resources, monitoring and tuning servers for optimal performance, and for ongoing development and improvement of operational policies and procedures. The manager is responsible for training, directing and supervising network technicians in a variety of tasks, not limited to, repairing, tuning, configuring and upgrading network operating systems, and application systems on network workstations and servers, evaluating network performance and generating reports, as well as supporting application activities that require specialized technical expertise. The manager is also expected to continuously research and remain current in relevant emerging technologies, and in identifying important industry trends. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all Campus clients. Must be willing to work flexible hours, and must be able to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment.
