Responsible for evaluating claims handling performance and the adequacy of claims controls, as well as assessing financial and operational risk, for state claims organizations companywide. This includes all aspects of both people and process management to achieve those goals.

Responsible for the redesign/implementation of the Corporate Special Investigations Unit audit program including all aspects of people and process management. This program assesses the quality of claims handling involving Progressive’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which is responsible for the detection, investigation, and deterrence of potentially fraudulent claims. Additional responsibilities include the assessment, development, and implementation of internal controls associated with claims payments.

Responsible for establishing the infrastructure necessary to redesign/expand the Internal Investigations Department in order to detect, investigate and prevent violations of Progressive's Code of Conduct (internal) and vendor fraud (external). This involved all aspects of both people and process management including planning, developing, implementing and executing strategies to achieve those goals.

Responsible for all aspects of management associated with both the Corporate Claims and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) audit programs. This included program development, implementation, and day-to-day people/process management.

Responsible for the completion of branch/division audits in order to assess organizational performance and ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and the claims mission. Also, involved in the direct oversight and/or participation in speciality operation audits and internal fraud investigations.

Responsible for the management of the Subrogation, Verification and Claims Training departments for the Central Division (i.e. 10 Midwest States).

Responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and settlement of physical damage and bodily injury (both non-represented and attorney represented) property/casualty insurance claims.
