I assisted with the evaluation of delay and extra work claims from several ongoing construction disputes. I created and critiqued damages calculations for delay, disruption, acceleration, and lost productivity. Additionally, I performed daily rate calculations of time-related general conditions expenditures to determine damages caused by extended performance periods for construction projects.

I provided valuation and damages analyses to examine claims for diminution of value and economic loss. I utilized multiple valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow models and regression analyses, to show plaintiffs' claims were overstated, unsupported, and failed to account for both operational and economic factors unrelated to the alleged breach of contract.

I managed a damages analysis of the incurred costs associated with the compromise of Naval Weapon System technology. Based on a review of contracts, cost support, and interviews with associated defense contractors, we developed a pricing model to calculate the incremental costs to produce the technology upgrades necessitated by the compromise. We prepared a report that summarized these costs and presented our conclusions to a working group of attorneys from the White House, US Navy, and Department of State.

I gained experience in the Federal Government procurement process by working on several bid protests. I developed certified cost and pricing models to perform value and cost realism analyses of complex price proposals for Federal Government contracts.I helped evaluate a subcontractor’s claim for lost profits related to a logistics contract in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I analyzed actual revenues and proposed prices to determine lost profits related to unexercised contract options. I also performed forensic accounting of billing and payment records in order to calculate interest on late payments.

I analyzed costs incurred and claimed by several utilities for delays in opening the Department of Energy’s Spent Nuclear Fuel Repository at Yucca Mountain. I performed a detailed review of the claimed damages, assisted in the preparation of fact witness deposition questions, developed cost schedules for expert reports, and assisted in the preparation of trial exhibits.Based on skills learned in this position, I continue to regularly analyze and manage extensive amounts of financial data for incurred cost reviews of damages claims involving contract default, breach of contract, and lost profits.
