Company representative overseeing contractors performing instrument and electrical construction projects in CABGOC’s (Chevron) Takula field, offshore Angola. Responsible for interfacing with all the stakeholders; Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Drilling, etc. to effectively plan and prioritize work. Directly supervise I&E construction crews to insure compliance with all safety regulations, adherence to all company specifications and completion of all project documentation.

Design instrument and electrical control systems. Define customer requirements, produce required drawings and documents, direct programmers and craftsmen, participate in hazard analysis programs, (PHA, Hazop), install and commission systems. Worked extensively in the upgrading of old gas processing plants with Distributed Control Systems and upgrading fired heaters with modern Burner Management Systems. Frequently served in other capacities: Field Service Engineer commissioning control panels and skids, I&C Technician calibrating and commissioning instruments & control systems and Construction Superintendent overseeing industrial instrumentation & electrical construction projects.

Under contract to Chevron Offshore Thailand. Responsible for all aspects of safe and efficient operation of approximately 30 offshore facilities including wellhead platforms, gathering and processing platforms, an FSO and an FPSO, producing ~65,000 BOPD & ~250 MMCF/D. Daily coordination of simultaneous operations between construction, drilling, well services, operations and maintenance groups in a very dynamic field. Final approver for all well intervention procedures and work permits. Frequently relieved company OIM.

Under contract to Chevron Offshore Thailand. Responsible for the maintenance, repair, training and reliability of over 70 PLC/DCS controllers along with all associated hardware, software and communication networks. Worked extensively with Allen Bradley and Triconex PLC’s, Yokogawa DCS, WonderWare HMI and the development of O&M procedures. Frequently relieved Lead Operators and Maintenance Supervisor. Promoted to Operations Supervisor in 2004.

Design, build install and service industrial automation systems: AutoCad drafting, DCS, PLC & HMI programming, inspection, commissioning.

Under contract to Mobil Oil Indonesia. Supervise, train, and develop procedures for the operation of a modular PLC controlled process package used to manage injection and return fluids for an under-balanced drilling pilot project in North Sumatra’s Arun gas field.

Under contract to Abacan Resource Corp. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Mobil Oil Production Unit (MOPU) offshore Nigeria. Supervised and trained locals in the operation and maintenance of all process systems, including standard production, shipping, and utility modules, steam generation, fuel gas octane boosting and oil stabilization systems. Developed all Production/Allocation reports and operating procedures. Transferred to Indonesia in 1998.

Served throughout the design, construction, commissioning and producing phases of a fast tracked, 50,000 BBL/D early production facility in Ingelside, Texas and offshore, Rivers State Nigeria. Maintained a control system based on a GE Fanuc 90 series PLC with Genius Block/Bus and remote telemetry communication. PC interface was through Cimplicity HMI software running in Windows NT. Developed all Instrument & Electrical maintenance and calibration documentation, training and record-keeping procedures. Promoted to Production Supervisor in 1997.

Consultant at “Oily Rocks” compressor station offshore Azerbaijan. Responsible for maintaining and providing training, (formal classroom and hands on), to locals on all instrument and electrical systems used to process and transport 150 MMCF/D of natural gas: Solar Centaur, turbine driven compressors with relay-logic control systems, (9), PLC controlled Glycol/Carbon absorption dehydration, micro-processor based PID loop controllers, flow measurement, surge controls, power generation/distribution and vibration monitoring systems.

Under contract to Chevron Nigeria (for the duration of a 2 year contract). Served as chief trouble-shooter of process instrumentation and electrical problems at offshore and inland well sites, production gathering stations, water-flood facilities, tanker berthing/offloading facilities, and within the Escravos tank farm, (dehydration, storage, export and power generation/distribution). Surveyed, designed and served as inspector on instrument and control projects.

Under contract to Freeport-McMoran. Responsible for maintenance, repair, calibration and trouble-shooting of all equipment used to produce, refine, transfer custody of and export 50,000 BOPD, 15 tons of sulfur/day and natural gas. Performed all compliance duties concerning MMS regulation of safety equipment in an offshore H2s environment (M.P. 299).

Worked on instrumentation and electrical construction and service jobs on land and offshore, domestically and abroad. Worked in the design and commissioning of safety and control systems for oil and gas processing and transmission facilities, sub-sea wellhead installations, gas processing plants and power generation facilities, (gas, steam & co-gen). Worked extensively with all types of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and electronic control devices, microprocessor based controllers, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, burner management systems, motor starter controls and prime-mover controls.

Responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of all equipment used in the production and transportation of oil and gas offshore. Worked extensively in the testing and calibration of safety devices in accordance with government regulations, optimizing production from gas-lift wells and unmanned facilities, and the commissioning of new platforms.

Under contract to Sun Exploration & Production Co. Performed tasks as directed while learning all aspects of offshore oil & gas production from the ground up.
